At this point, I say keep it with the Blind Pig. Better to plan things out if we have others joining, especially students. :)

Hello all,

This sounds like a great focus for tomorrow’s CTRL-Shift meeting! George isn’t sure whether he’ll be back in time for CTRL-Shift tomorrow, but I will be there and look forward to talking with whomever shows up!

Moving to an all-ages establishment sounds good, though I’m not sure we’ll have any K-12 participants if we are only deciding on this less than 24 hours in advance J If anyone knows of students they’d like to invite, by all means go right ahead! Alternatively, we could dedicate the next 2 meetings to this topic, keeping tomorrow’s meeting at the Brewery and moving next week’s meeting elsewhere.

If we want to move away from a bar, a couple options that come to mind are Flying Machine/Pizza M in downtown Urbana or Café Kopi in downtown Champaign. I think either would have enough room to support the group. Any other suggestions are most welcome! I believe Aroma and Pekara both have small outdoor seating areas as well, and are conveniently located right next to the Blind Pig Brewery.

Any thoughts on a venue change for tomorrow?

I would love to be part of the conversation around this- I can't commit to this Tuesday, leaving town Wednesday and I have a feeling my presence at home will be required Tuesday night. ;)

I also think having the teachers union reps from the district would be great!

A few of us are getting together to discuss a petition to opt-out of standardized testing, an action item born at the last CU EdCamp. Personally, I have already met several passionate folks on both sides.

Just thinking out loud, how could we make a Tuesday night gathering student-friendly? Or should that be a completely different gathering? I would love to hear the student voice.
