I. Prof. Yong Zhao gave an interesting and entertaining talk on present developments in education at the recent 2nd Annual Conference of the Public Education Network [PEN]. Here is some bio information for Prof. Zhao.

M.A., University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Education, 1994
Ph.D., University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Educational Psychology, 1996
Yong Zhao, Ph.D., is the university's first Presidential Chair. In January 2011, he joined the College of Education faculty as a full professor in the Department of Educational Methodology, Policy, and Leadership. He is a fellow of the International Academy for Education.
Zhao has extensive international experience consulting with government and educational agencies and speaking on educational issues in many countries on six continents. His current work focuses on designing 21st century schools in the context of globalization and the digital revolutionPrior to joining the University of Oregon College of Education, Zhao served as professor of technology in teaching and learning in the Department of Counseling, Educational Psychology, and Special Education at Michigan State University since 1996, where he was also founding director of the US-China Center for Research on Educational Excellence and University Distinguished Professor.
