"5. MICE
meeting at Kenwood this Thursday. Or is it Champaign Tech Coaches. Can we get an update on that?"
I am very pleased to have made it to 5th place on this bountiful list of discussion points. To give a bit of context, the Illinois Computing Educators (ICE) is the state affiliate organization of ISTE. MICE is our local ICE chapter, covering a good section
of East-Central IL, including the C-U area. For the past several years, all of the meetings have been held in the Charleston area, despite a great number of ICE members being found in CU. This Thursday,
we are hosting the first of two local meetings of MICE. We will be at Kenwood @5PM in the Art room where we will hear about the Kenwood's team effort with community collaboration and movement toward increasing the CT/CS in their school. The
goal is to share this message out to other involved MICE schools. Additionally, I would like to see local support from interested computing educators for the meetings to be held in town on a regular basis.
I will be there tonight (a few minutes late), but if you have questions, I would be happy to share more.
Thanks for asking George!

I have added Bob Stake, Hui-Lien Hsaio, Sarah Butt to the CTRL-Shift list. The roster should be visible at https://lists.mste.illinois.edu/roster/ctrl-shift
If you have trouble viewing this, let me know, Michael can do some wizardry and get us a list that is easier to read.
Possible items for tonight’s discussion.
1. FabLab Open house on Friday!
2. This weekend’s CT-Math writing group at Kenwood. I’ll need some help with the GoToMeeting component.
3. Had a meeting yesterday that Martin led where the program evaluators (Sharon and Bob) met with different stakeholders in the DeMystifying Computers and Computational Thinking efforts.
4. The CESUC Directors Circle met yesterday. I’ll share my perspective on that.
5. MICE meeting at Kenwood this Thursday. Or is it Champaign Tech Coaches. Can we get an update on that?
6. Should the CTRL-Shift messages, or some of them at least, be made public? Perhaps we can take some of the conversations and add them to the ctrlshift.mste.illinois.edu website.
7. Charles Shultz’s blog has been very active with discussions about the referendum. I’ve been trying to keep up, but there is too much happening. Help! J
What am I forgetting?
See you tonight.
George
