Hi Charles,
You’re right, there is a password protect on them now, so that only list members can see the archives. I thought that we had set it to public, but no we didn’t.
Michael had a great suggestion, that we put select conversations up on the CTRL-Shift website http://ctrlshift.mste.illinois.edu/about-us/ which we’re not really keeping well enough up to date.
Given that the archive is not public, as I thought it was, a change of status would be called for. I want us to ponder that before just doing it.

To clarify, that archive, which says "private", is private - you need a password to see it. Can it be "public" instead?
No matter who links to it (say, for instance, Joe Schmoe from Nowhereville), they would still need to sign-in with the current access privileges.

Just want to be clear what you’re asking.
https://lists.mste.illinois.edu/private/ctrl-shift/ What you’re talking about is linking to that archive on your CitizenFour blog and inviting folks to peruse the discussions, yes?
Currently, going that link, anyone can see any messages sent to the list in the past year. Some is
light-hearted banter around meeting location and who’s attending. There are also some very thoughtful discussions and helpful information that we’ve shared.
There are currently 65 addresses on the list, so there are a lot of lurkers just keeping up to date on the Ctrl-Shift goings on.
Thanks for being careful about this.

Good morning, CTRL-Shift!
Due to all the awesomeness being shared via email in this list, I am curious if anyone is opposed to the idea of making the archives public. Being all democratic that we all and all having a voice, I figure I would jump the gun, ignore all protocol and just put the question out there for you to chew on.
