Yesterday at our weekly meeting I mentioned an interesting article I’ve been going through regarding meta-design (http://l3d.cs.colorado.edu/~gerhard/papers/2014/EUSSET.pdf). During class discussion this morning it received a lot of interest from my GSLIS students as well. While directed towards tech hardware and software design, I think some of the principles are equally relevant to curricular development. In particular, the concept of under design is intriguing as we recognize the class teacher as a co-developer of curriculum, appropriating it to fit the specific context of class, student, and teacher history and purpose.
