Hi all,

I've had a chance to speak to a couple of you about this, but I'll be
teaching a summer Community Informatics Studio course. Initially the project
was going to focus on design of space and programming for a new design and
innovation center within Grainger library. But after a number of
conversations over the last few days, we're taking a step back and will be
exploring community assets, needs, and goals regarding design and innovations
spaces on campus and around the community more generally. I'm actually quite
pleased with this modified project and think it is a better first step that
can inform a number of projects. Indeed, I've gotten strong interest from
those already working in such spaces to see the final report from the CI
Studio project.

I'd appreciate your help in getting the word out regarding the class 1) to
recruit students from a range of disciplines to participate; and 2) to help
us get in touch with various stakeholders around the community with whom
students can meet this summer.

Attached is a blurb. Please feel encouraged to disseminate widely. And your
feedback on the project is greatly appreciated.

Cheers!

-- Martin
