I met with him and Valeri Werpetinski today already. It was mostly me
telling him what I knew, and what you all know. He is interested in
submitting something that supports the LINC service learning courses and
community engagement, and possibly in how to help communities be
entrepreneurial to solve community problems. While he is interested in
measuring community impact he does not see that as a focus right now. His
main concern with the whole thing is what happens after 2 years. Will there
be continued funding if the collaboration is successful or will we be
required to obtain other funding? In the end I think we have 3
proposals: 1- to extend student-supported community problem solving
(Litchfield), 2- computational thinking (MSTE, Educ, CS) and 3- fab lab
design and fabrication dissemination (which may include Bruce, and hopefully
Martin as faculty collaborators)
